Extremely good book, especially for the information on FEMA, and the U.N. related "Executive Orders" issued by U.S. presidents to take away the rights of the citizens of the United States. All true information. Good plot, very realistic scenario as we are currently facing the problems in the story.One criticism however on story line as follows: woman captured, woman escapes killing to do so, woman holds back this information from group she belongs to making her group suspicions, afraid they will not like her, tries to tell a leader and gets him killed while talking. This scenario is being used in a lot of books. To me if you are fighting for survival of your country, why worry? You are supposed to kill enemies! Please authors quit using this scene in books!
Otherwise the book is great and I recommend it highly. Available from Amazon.

This book is so relevant that it is scary. I fear for the world our Grandchildren will live in. This author is good at this and I look forward to the next book which I do have in my Library.
This seems to be a great start to this series. Kinda scary how applicable this could be. Can't wait to read the next one.
Its so refreshing to read a series that has probability. The characters are well developed and the story is very driven. I am getting attached to these characters and look forward to where they end up. Great read!
this is a realistic look into the looking glass with anti personnel rights and a shift from the protections of the bill of rights that are happen now can and will lead us down this rabbit hole TYRANT is a look of what will happen if this shift comes to be and what it would take to win back our freedom.
The main problem with the apocalyptic genre is keeping the story fresh and challenging the reader to keep reading. Mr.Hogan has met and exceeded that challenge. I enjoy the characters and the storyline never bogs down. If you enjoy this genre and the military approach, I believe this is a series for you. After reading this ebook, I now own the entire series.
A frightening thought that the end of the world as we know it could come from our own people! An eye opening story that gives a good reality check into what could happen if we continue handing over our rights. Be ready to meet a crew of characters that will drag you with them from action to action. Reading the prequel, "Acts of Defiance" will show you how our country got to this point.
Revising from 2 to 3 stars. Last 1/3 of book was better in subplots and character development. First part we met a lot of cliche characters, saw a bunch of military jargon, and hokey speeches to rally the troops. I still feel miilitary types would enjoy more. Premise is good but I like more of the reluctant hero type, as in Going home, shtf series, and one second after. In this book, everyone seems to be well equipped. Plenty of bullets for all. Some but not much talk about food, ammo, water, or power shortages. Harder to read if you are a non military prepper as too there is too much focus on military details and strategies. We get it. Author has military background. Suggest that more masses can be reached if the focus is on the characters. It is ok for them to have vulnerabilities. The heros on this book all seem like they are invincible. I have higher hopes for the second and third book as far as character building - hope the author reduces a lot of unnecessary banter. I got the series when on sale so I do not have buyer remorse. I will invest the time to finish since it was recommended by an author I admire.
